What to send
- What you did and what happened, in enough detail that it can be repeated
- Your macOS version and the app version — Archeform IFC → About Archeform IFC
- Which program exported the IFC file, and its version
- The IFC file itself, if you can share it. A file that shows the problem helps more than anything else; a stripped-down copy with only the affected elements is fine.
If you are testing a beta, you can also use Send Feedback in TestFlight, which can attach a screenshot.
Requirements
- A Mac with Apple silicon (M1 or later) and macOS 26 or later.
- Opens IFC4, IFC4.3 and IFC2x3. IFC2x3 files are read-only; editing works on IFC4 and IFC4.3.
Free and Pro
Free: viewing, sections, storey floor plans, measuring (distance, angle, area), X-Ray, the inspector with properties and quantities, schedules, and viewing several models together.
Pro: editing data directly in the IFC file (names, descriptions, property values), changing many elements at once, adding buildingSMART and custom property sets, classifications, and exporting schedules to CSV and Excel.
Pro costs €69.99 a year or €7.99 a month (prices in other currencies are shown in the App Store), with a two-week free trial.
Frequently asked questions
A file does not open or looks wrong.
Please send it to [email protected]. If a file is damaged, the app shows what it could read and tells you so.
What does the app change in my file?
Saving is lossless: only what you edited is rewritten, the rest of the file stays exactly as it was.
How does it handle large models?
Models load progressively, so you see the model before it has finished loading. Files over 128 MB are not read into memory all at once.
Can I view several models together?
Yes. Added models (for example structure or MEP next to the architecture) are read-only and are remembered with the file.
What happens when I export the file again from my authoring tool?
The app reloads it automatically and keeps your selection and hidden elements.
Known limitations in 1.0
- IFC2x3 files are read-only.
- The 3D view is navigated with the mouse or trackpad and the toolbar buttons, not with the arrow keys.
Pro subscription
Archeform IFC Pro is a subscription sold through the Mac App Store, so Apple handles payment, renewal and refunds.
- Cancel or change your plan: open the App Store app, click your name, then Account Settings → Subscriptions → Manage.
- On another Mac: sign in with the same Apple Account, open Archeform IFC → Archeform IFC Pro… and click Restore Purchases.
- Refunds: requested from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue App Store refunds ourselves.
Privacy
Your models never leave your Mac and the app collects no personal data. Details are in the Archeform IFC privacy policy. Terms of use: Apple's standard licence agreement.
